The amazing photography on my website is by a very good friend of mine, Shari Miller.
For 30 years, Shari allowed the discouraging words of a junior high art teacher to convince her that she was not an artist. Since 2010, she has worked alongside an artist who inspired her to think differently – by introducing her to ephemeral art & the work of Andy Goldsworthy.
In 2014, she was invited to be an apprentice in The Arcanum, an online Master/Apprentice mentoring program for photographers, and just recently became a Master herself & is beginning to build her own “cohort of seers.”
Words from Shari on The Arcanum website:
“I have a passion for finding beauty in our ordinary, everyday lives. Through my work, I invite people to look more closely – more deeply – to see more of the beauty that exists in the world around them, in others, and within themselves. I believe that beauty can be found anywhere – and everywhere – even in the areas where it may seem impossible to see – or in the areas that are often overlooked or passed by. I am inspired by the ephemeral earth art of Andy Goldsworthy and have an ongoing series featuring small bits of nature called #smallthingsstanding. I am fascinated by the process of photography as a contemplative practice that allows us to gain greater clarity about ourselves.”
